ThyssenKrupp AG is an international group of companies comprising largely independent industrial and technology businesses. It operates through the following segments: Materials Services, Industrial Components, Automotive Technology, Steel Europe, Marine Systems, Multi Tracks and Corporate Headquarters. The Materials Services segment distributes materials and provides complex technical services for the production and manufacturing sectors. The Industrial Components segment offers components for the automotive, construction and engineering sectors, as well as for the wind turbines. The Automotive Technology segment offers products and services including high-tech components and systems, as well as automation solutions for vehicle manufacturing. The Steel Europe segment involves flat carbon steel activities such as materials solutions and finished parts. The Marine System segment is active in naval shipbuilding. The Multi Tracks segment offers specialised products and services to customers in different industries. The Corporate Headquarters segment refers to the company's head office and the performance of processes in accounting, information technology, real estate and human resources, as well as special units for the management of real estate operations. The company was founded on the 17th of March, 1999 and is headquartered in Essen, Germany.
