Consensus Mechanism | The Redbelly Network employs a leaderless consensus mechanism known as Democratic Byzantine Fault Tolerance (DBFT), developed in collaboration with the University of Sydney and CSIRO's Data61. This protocol enables high performance and ensures the impossibility of forking, thereby preventing double-spending with near-instant finality. DBFT allows multiple nodes to propose blocks simultaneously, which are then combined into a 'superblock' through collaborative validation, enhancing scalability and security. Incentive Mechanisms and Applicable Fees | In the Redbelly Network, node operators, comprising Governors and Candidates, are incentivized through a combination of staking rewards and transaction fees. Each node operator is required to stake a minimum of 100,000 RBNT to participate in the Mainnet. Governors, playing a pivotal role in the consensus process, receive a larger portion of transaction fees compared to Candidates. Transaction fees are denominated in RBNT but are stabilized in USD terms, providing predictability for users. A simple native transaction is fixed at a cost of USD 0.01, with the gas price adjusted accordingly based on the current RBNT/USD exchange rate. This structure ensures that transaction costs remain consistent, irrespective of RBNT's market fluctuations. |
