The creators of eCash (XEC) describe the coin as a cryptocurrency that’s been designed to use as electronic cash in transactions to pay for goods and services. XEC was rebranded from Bitcoin Cash ABC (BCHA), itself a fork of Bitcoin (BTC) and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) in September 2021. eCash is built on a custom consensus layer called ‘Avalanche,’ which is unrelated to the blockchain Avalanche (AVAX).
